"Rachel Monosov returns to Villa Massimo one year after her first stay which took place during a collaboration with the Palazzo delle Esposizioni's Sublimi Anatomie exhibition in December 2019. The Covid-19 crisis not only delayed Monosov's agreed return to Rome for the production of a site-specific project, but it completely transformed it. For the first time, the artist and the German Academy respond with an exhibition that reacts directly to the limits brought on by the pandemic, both in terms of content and form; experimenting with a completely new format."

The exhibition, curated by Julia Trolp, is conceived by the Artist as a digital work - made for the lens as opposed to the eye present in space. Through the website, www.liminal.contact, created specifically for this event, audiences enter virtually the three rooms of Villa Massimo's gallery.
